"Practice Computer" grows: aliases, Find, a calendar, a document library, Shift/Option modifier keys, expandable lists, find and word count in Write, outline and rotate in Paint, and more — plus a "Practice Tasks" checklist that guides you step by step.
iPhone Duo support: folded halfway, the Mac screen fills the top half and a trackpad fills the bottom half.
Mobile networks: fixed a case where reconnecting after a drop started at a very low bitrate and frame rate.
Symbols now follow your Mac's hardware keyboard type (JIS / ANSI), fixing "@" being typed as ":". Symbol keys on an external iPhone keyboard are sent as typed.
Mac controller: 1:1 mode now matches points on both sides (1 point remotely = 1 point locally), and the pointer always stays an arrow.
New "Open Source Licenses" page in Settings and in the app menus.
0.9.8
New "Practice Computer": a built-in classic 1-bit desktop where you can safely practise touch and mouse operation — windows, files and folders, text editing, painting, desk accessories, chess and a card game, plus mouse-practice lessons. It can browse an iCloud folder read-only, and everything you edit stays that way until you choose "Restore Defaults". Available on iPhone and on the Mac controller.
Mac controller: two main modes — Fit and 1:1. In 1:1 the cursor moves freely to the center line, then the screen scrolls along; it crosses smoothly to the next display, and thumbnails of neighboring displays appear near the edges.
Mac controller now behaves like iPhone: scroll direction follows your own setting, typing is sent as typed, and ⌘C / ⌘V / ⌘X work with automatic clipboard sync.
iPhone with AirPlay: while you type, the focused text field is shown on the phone so you can see what you are entering.
Host: dragging near screen edges is safer, display thumbnails update faster, and updating the Host restarts it more reliably.
Smoother Mac controller performance.
0.9.7
Multiple displays: other displays now start in the background, so switching screens shows far less black time, and the mouse stays usable while switching.
Following the active window now also moves the cursor to the center of the new view (fixes cases like Dock → app window not being followed).
More reliable connections: faster, steadier connecting over mobile networks; the Host no longer drops connections when the network configuration fluctuates, no longer makes the phone reconnect too early while screen capture is still starting, and recovers by itself if it gets stuck.
Fixed broken tiles that appeared while zooming Dock icons.
Landscape: the remote screen no longer shrinks to a sliver when the keyboard is shown, and it can scroll 10pt further up so the Dock isn't hidden.
The device list no longer flashes "not found" on a poor network or when returning to the app.
Spaces, punctuation and line breaks now reach nested remote-desktop windows correctly.
Host: lower overhead while idle.
0.9.5
New interface languages: Russian, Spanish, German and Portuguese (10 in total)
Host: the controller is now told when remote input cannot reach the Mac, such as while a password is being typed or a system authorization dialog is open
0.9.1
New “Actual size” display scale: shows the Mac screen pixel for pixel. Single Remote for Mac supports pointer lock (press ⌃⌥⌘ to release)
Haptic feedback for keyboard function and modifier keys
Fixed control stopping after the screen went still, and the picture freezing after returning from the background
Host: more reliable switch-over after an update (opening the new version replaces the old Host automatically); fixed several Hosts launching at once; stream info and “Relaunch Host” added to the menu
Fixed the bitrate cap on cellular; stability improvements
0.9
Single Remote for iOS and for Mac are now paid apps (Host stays free)
Old devices that can no longer connect can be removed from the device list
Host: stronger self-recovery after launch or update (detects and replaces unresponsive old instances)
Host: works on a Mac with no physical display using a logical screen (equivalent to a 13″ or 15″ MacBook Air), configurable from the menu
0.8.0
Notarized build for Intel Macs now available (Apple silicon build via the Mac App Store)
