Download Single Remote Host (the Mac-side app)
“Single Remote Host” is the free companion app that goes on the Mac being controlled from the iPhone app “Single Remote” (or from Single Remote for Mac). Where to get it depends on the chip in your Mac.
Apple silicon Macs (M1 and later)
Install it from the Mac App Store.
Open “Single Remote Host” in the Mac App Store (macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon only)
From version 0.8, the Mac App Store build is Apple silicon only. On an Intel Mac, use the Intel build below.
Intel Mac
For Intel Macs, the same app is distributed directly from this page, signed with Apple’s Developer ID and notarized by Apple. It opens right after downloading (the features are the same as the Mac App Store build).

How to check which chip your Mac has
Open the Apple menu at the top left › “About This Mac”. If “Chip” says “Apple M1 / M2 / M3 / M4 …”, it is an Apple silicon Mac; if “Processor” says “Intel …”, it is an Intel Mac.
Installation (Intel build)
- Double-click the downloaded zip to extract it, then move “Single Remote Host.app” to the Applications folder.
- Open the app. It lives in the menu bar (it does not appear in the Dock).
- Follow the first-launch guide and allow these two items in macOS “System Settings › Privacy & Security”:
- Screen Recording: to stream the Mac’s screen to the iPhone
- Accessibility: to deliver mouse and keyboard input from the iPhone to the Mac (macOS requires this for any app that sends input events to other apps)
- With the Mac and the iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, open Single Remote on the iPhone and this Mac appears in the list. On the first connection, confirm it as “my own device” on the Mac to complete pairing.
For the Mac App Store build, the steps after launch (from step 3) are the same.
Security
- Only an iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account and confirmed on the Mac can connect. No one else can.
- All screen and input traffic is end-to-end encrypted and never stored on an external server.
- You can revoke the permissions at any time in “System Settings › Privacy & Security”.
See the Privacy Policy and Support for details.
