Single Remote Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
This policy applies to the iOS app “Single Remote” and the Mac companion app “Single Remote Host” (together, “the app”). The app is designed with your privacy in mind and does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.
1. Information we collect
The app collects no information that could identify you: no name, email address, contacts, location, usage history or device identifiers. It contains no analytics tools, advertising networks or third-party tracking SDKs.
2. How devices connect
The app connects your iPhone to your own Mac so you can control it. The connection works as follows.
- Pairing: when both the iPhone and the Mac are signed in to the same Apple Account, only the information needed to find each other is exchanged between the devices through Apple’s private database (iCloud). That information stays inside your own iCloud account; the developer cannot access it.
- Screen and input: the Mac’s screen video and the touch and keyboard input from the iPhone travel directly between the two devices (peer to peer). The connection is end-to-end encrypted (DTLS-SRTP).
- No server storage: screen content and input are never sent to or stored on the developer’s or any third party’s servers.
3. Camera and microphone
The app does not use the iPhone’s camera or microphone. Because the communication library it includes (WebRTC) references those APIs, iOS requires an explanatory text to be present, but the app never accesses the camera or microphone to capture or record anything.
4. macOS permissions (Single Remote Host)
On the Mac, “Single Remote Host” uses the “Screen Recording” permission to stream the screen to the iPhone, and the “Accessibility” permission to control the Mac with input from the iPhone. Both are granted only by you, through the standard macOS dialogs. Until you allow them, no screen is captured and nothing is controlled. These permissions are not used for any purpose other than streaming and control.
5. Sharing with third parties and data storage
Because the app collects no data, there is nothing to share with third parties. It shows no ads, and no user data is stored on the developer’s servers.
6. Children’s privacy
The app collects no data and is safe for users of any age (rated 4+).
7. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be revised when necessary. Significant changes will be announced on this page together with the update date.
