Single Remote Support & Contact
Single Remote turns your iPhone into a low-latency remote control for your own Mac. It requires the free companion app “Single Remote Host” on the Mac.
What you need
- “Single Remote Host” (free) installed on the Mac you want to control
- Both the iPhone and the Mac signed in to the same Apple Account
- Both devices connected to the internet
First-time setup
- Download “Single Remote Host” on the Mac, install it and open it.
- When the Mac asks for “Screen Recording” (needed to stream the screen) and “Accessibility” (needed for control), allow them in macOS settings. The in-app guide takes you to the right settings pane.
- Open Single Remote on the iPhone. Macs on the same Apple Account appear in the list automatically; tap one to connect.
How to use
- Move the pointer: slide your finger on the screen, just like a trackpad.
- Click: tap. To drag, keep moving your finger.
- Scroll: two-finger scroll. For precise scrolling, use the click wheel.
- Keyboard: full keyboard input, including modifier keys.
- Switch displays: if the Mac has several displays, you can switch between them.
Frequently asked questions
I can’t connect.
Make sure the iPhone and the Mac are signed in to the same Apple Account and that both are online. “Screen Recording” and “Accessibility” must also be allowed on the Mac.
It feels slow or the picture breaks up.
Picture quality adapts to the network automatically. On cellular, stability comes first, so quality is reduced. It runs more smoothly on Wi-Fi.
Does it cost anything?
Single Remote for iPhone and for Mac is a paid app. “Single Remote Host”, which goes on the Mac being controlled, is free.
Is it private?
Everything is end-to-end encrypted, and your screen content is never stored on a server. See the Privacy Policy for details.
